Childcare Manager
I am Cairndow Community Childcare's Manager, and have been with the childcare here for sixteen years, starting off as a student and working my way up to be Manager.
I hold an SVQ4 qualification.
I am enjoying the challenges of growing the centre and creating something special.
My passion lies in making a difference to children, families and staff.
I am fortunate enough at Cairndow to be able to make a difference and input new and creative strategies in learning.
I am available for children, staff and parents to talk to when needed, so please come and speak to me anytime.

Lisa MacIntyre
Lead Practitioner
I have been at nursery since 2006 and in that time I have worked with all the different age groups within nursery and seen lots of boys and girls grow and graduate to Primary One and beyond!
I am a trained book bug leader and love to sing and tell stories and I also enjoy spending time outdoors playing and learning with the children. In 2018 I completed a Woodland Activity Leader Training Course.
Outside of nursery I have lived in Inveraray for 14 years with my husband and our son. I enjoy walking, reading, holidays and meeting up with friends and family.
Key Practitioner, SVQ3, with us since 2006
Jessica Smeaton
Baby Practitioner
Originally from Inveraray where I have lived most of my life.
I have worked in the child-caring profession in various nurseries throughout my 23 year career, also working as a ‘Live in Nanny’ both in Argyll and Jersey.
Being a motivated and caring person, I enjoy walking, cycling, being outdoors and the company of friends and family.
I love encouraging the children in play and development, setting up new activities for them to explore, coming down to their level and interacting with the children.
I still get a huge buzz when seeing the little ones happy and smiling at play.
SVQ3, has been with Cairndow Childcare over the years and since 2018

Corinne Slater
ELC Practitioner
I have been married for 30 years and have two grown up boys. I moved into the childcare profession after having my first son. I have over 20 years of experience providing children with a caring and stimulating experience to helping then reach their full potential.
We have recently moved to Scotland from the south west. I love being outdoors - going for long walks, especially along the shore. I have a keen interest in wildlife and have been involved in wildlife groups when my children were growing up.
I have been enjoying gardening including growing vegetables over the last few months.
When not outside I enjoy sewing, knitting, painting and doing crafty projects.
Ross Anderson
Toddler Practitioner
Joined Cairndow Childcare in 2019 and studying towards SVQ2
I have always had an interest in working with children and learning about their development and what makes them tick. To be given the opportunity to work and train and learn from my colleagues at Cairndow Community Childcare has been an ambition fulfilled and I am working hard to take my education further.
I get as much from the children as they do from me.

Customer Service
Originally from Ireland, I have travelled and worked in various locations including New Zealand, settling in Cairndow a couple of years ago.
I have always worked in community settings with children and young people along with valuable customer service experience, so I was delighted to have the opportunity to bring my skill set to The Fyne Den.

I have worked with children in three different continents during the course of my career. Originally from Denmark, I have worked with anti-trafficking NGOs in the Netherlands, children's support services in Kenya and Venezuela, and children's advocacy in Scotland. At the Fyne Den, there is nothing I like more than seeing families play together creating new experiences and having fun.

Business Development
Sheena Dowse
I have been raising my family and running my own businesses in the local area for the last 30 years, being heavily involved in lots of community activities. I have experienced business and voluntary work from many diverse angles and have picked up a lot of skills along the way. Getting involved with developing The Fyne Den, helping it to reach its full potential, and promoting the opportunities it brings to the local community, visitors and team are both exciting and rewarding.

I started with Cairndow Community Childcare working as their cleaner back in 2008. I moved into the General Assistant position a year later and began to take on the supply practitioner role. In 2015 I moved into an admin role, eventually settling in the land of accounts where I remain happily ensconced to this day.
